Central District Brewing

Open as of MARCH 2019

Central District Brewing is small batch brewery in downtown Austin, TX with a community-focused taproom.  At this time, we do not have our own beers on tap.  We experienced a delay in our TTB permitting during the federal government shutdown, but are finally licensed to brew.  Currently, we are featuring amazing craft beer from other Central Texas craft breweries. Come and say hello!

The central business district of Austin used to be the home of many breweries that unfortunately have all closed: City Brewery (1877), Steam Brewery (1878), Armadillo Brewing/Katie Bloom’s (1995), Stone House Brewery (1995), Waterloo Brewing (2001), The Bitter End (2005), Copper Tank (2005), Lovejoy’s (2012). Brewpubs were illegal in Texas until 1993, so thank you Billy Forrester of Waterloo Brewing for lobbying to get HB1425 passed!

Our small brewhouse will allow us to produce approachable pillar beers, seasonals, and a lot of experimental beers that will keep our taproom filled with interesting new beers to try starting in May. Follow us on social media to be the first to know about our beer releases.
